Apple and the Art of Innovation

The Economist has a very interesting article about the lessons from Apple. It claims that there are 4 lessons from Apple for innovative business:
  1. Avoid the NIH (not-invented-here) syndrome. Bring ideas from outside, embrace them.
  2. Pay more attention to user's needs than technology
  3. Dare to challenge the conventional wisdom. No analyst predicted the huge success of the iPod, or for that matter, the Nintendo Wii, or even Google
  4. Learn from your failures

Google vs Salesforce - I don't buy it

The news of the day is Google's alliance with Salesforce.com: Salesforce will resell Google's tools to small business.

Come on!

This is just a smoke curtain. The real deal will be that Google offers Salesforce's apps, not the other way round. Our prediction: wait for the other shoe to fall.
